Get Your Ducks in a Row: An Introduction to Estate Planning

Aatif was born and raised in Vancouver and resided there until moving to Chilliwack in 2013. While studying criminology at Simon Fraser University, he worked and volunteered for a variety of advocacy and outreach organizations mainly in the criminal justice field. Aatif graduated with honours from Simon Fraser University in 2008.

After completing his Bachelor’s degree, he continued to work and volunteer in the criminal justice field, primarily in the area of offender rehabilitation. In 2011, he began studying to become a Notary, and in 2013 he earned his Master’s Degree in Applied Legal Studies from SFU and was commissioned as a Notary Public.

During his time in Chilliwack, he has served on the Board of Directors for the Chilliwack & District Seniors’ Resource Society, the Senior Transition Alliance Resource, and the Rotary Club of Chilliwack.

In practice, Aatif strives to offer his clients a comfortable and worry-free experience. He recognizes that the types of issues they have can be stressful and creating a friendly atmosphere can help to put clients at ease and give them peace of mind.

Aatif lives in Chilliwack with his wife Emily and their two Abyssinian cats. He is a proud member of the Rotary Club of Chilliwack and an avid supporter of the Canadian Wheelchair Foundation. When Aatif is not working or volunteering, he enjoys hiking and traveling.

Kim McLandress grew up in Grande Prairie Alberta and moved to the Fraser Valley in 1999 to attend the University College of the Fraser Valley. While completing her degree in Criminal Justice she began volunteering for Chilliwack Restorative Justice.

Kim spent 13 years at Chilliwack Restorative Justice, eventually leading the organization from 2008-2013 as Executive Director. From 2013-2019 Kim owned and operated a women’s clothing store and co-owned a men’s clothing store in Chilliwack.

Kim has a Master of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from UFV and a Master of Arts degree in Applied Legal Studies from SFU.

Kim has been practicing as a Notary at Simpson Notaries since receiving her commission in June 2018.

Kim has been very involved in the community as a director for Chilliwack Restorative Justice, Chilliwack Community Services, The Chilliwack Curling Club (including as president), sitting as a member of the Chilliwack Citizens Advisory Committee, and as a Rotarian with the Rotary Club of Chilliwack Mount Cheam since 2010 including as president from July 2018 to June 2019.

In her spare time Kim curls, plays soccer, and enjoys spending time with her partner Adam, friends, family, and 2 dogs.
